This piece of furniture is a prestigious model of the typical Venetian production of moved flaps that distinguished itself throughout the Veneto region for the creativity and imagination of the cabinet-makers.
The production of these elements, although limited to a restricted area, represents a milestone in the evolution of the Venetian tradition.
The Venetian form is evident, as is the unmistakable trait of the region's full-bodiedness modulated in very harmonious forms in the movement choked by the slanting that separates the drawers from the upper part, this resumption tends to accentuate the sense of proportions with double frame and double move.
The side part with its wonderful wiggle gives elegance and refinement to the cabinet, but at the same time accentuates its stability and softens its proportions.
The decoration is sober and remains anchored in the Venetian tradition with walnut and walnut briarwood as protagonists and ready to give warmth and colour to the piece of furniture; praise must certainly go to those who built the interior of the walnut cabinet with a really genuine and sober move in the drawers together with the central bezel, all features that give uniqueness to the piece of furniture and as far as I am concerned magic that can give off love to the beholder.
This piece of furniture, still in first patina and in excellent condition, comes from a private home.
The paintings and works of art published here are my exclusive property and therefore are always available to be viewed, by appointment, in my exhibition sites located in Sanremo and Brescia.
