"Box Of Urological Probes Benique Candles Surgical Tools"
This box includes surgeon's tools, everything is from the beginning of the 20th century. These instruments developed by Pierre-Jules Béniqué (1806-1851) were used to dilate the male urethra, following a narrowing linked to a local bacterial or parasitic infection, causing urinary retention. These curved probes have an increasing numbering from 37 to 60. From one graduation to the next, the diameter varies by one-sixth of a mm. These instruments were used extensively during the Great War due to the large number of venereal diseases at the time. We note stains on the box, loose angles, note that a screw is missing at the clasp, oxidation on the plate of copper, traces of wear and deformations on the tools. Our many photos allow you to appreciate the quality of the object. For the state, thank you for detailing the photos. Feel free to zoom. The photos are an integral part of the description.
