Biography :
From Baltimore, Maryland, USA, Helene Maynard White was a sculptor and active/lived in Maine, Michigan, Maryland. Helene White was known for portraits and various figures. She studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia, then continued her studies in Paris, where she began sculpting. She returned to Philadelphia continuing her statuary work. White was a member of Plastic Club of Philadelphia, of Lyceum Club of New York and of Three Arts Club.
William Merritt Chase painted her portrait around 1900 (collection The Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum, Florida International University, Miami).
