Entrance to the Village - January 1945
Original wood monogrammed "LJS" in the plate at the bottom left.
Print mounted by the previous collector in a very thick 65 x 50 cm mat, this mat is glued on the 4 sides to the cardboard below, so we were unable to check all the margins.
Dimensions: Wood: 225 x 305 mm - Margins at sight: 263 x 338 mm.
In lower margin in pencil: numbered 4/60 on the left, signed on the right.
Very good state.
This is a view of the village of Saint-Péravy-la-Colombe (Loiret) (reverse landscape).
Louis Joseph Soulas (1905-1954), French painter-engraver of international renown, illustrated a large number of works and engraved around five hundred plates in which he sings of his native Beauce (sources: official site dedicated to the artist).
