This oil on isorel panel represents a landscape of Isère and more precisely of the region of Grésivaudan; it is signed lower right JD Ribeyrol, dated 1967 and countersigned on the back with the address of the artist in Grenoble Jean-Daniel Ribeyrol was born in Razac sur l'Isle in 1918; he was a pupil of Robert Dessales Quentin and Julien Saraben. Having become a railwayman, he was transferred to Grenoble then to Lyon in 1968; He participated in the artistic life of these cities by being part of the Fine Arts Societies. He developed a very particular style there with a cloisonnist or even cubist touch, by breaking down the landscapes into a multitude of juxtaposed touches of color, seeking luminous contrasts. put his easel in front of the landscapes of Isère or Provence. It was only after 1974 that he returned to Périgueux where he took an important place in the Périgord fine arts society and where he mastered his technique perfectly.
