Jean Marchand had a first personal exhibition in 1918, and has since exhibited regularly at the Grands Salons Parisiens, and obtained in 1925 the price of the Villa Abd El Tif. Close to the Art of Albert Marquet, of whom he was a friend, Corneau leaves many landscapes, notably from Brittany or Provence with subtle and delicate colors and intimate scenes, close to the Nabis.
