"Wall Hanging In Flap Embroidery On A Background Of Embroidered Muslin - Fauve Inspiration - Morocco Early XX"
Early 20th century Morocco Rabat Beautiful wall hanging or half-portière in silk flap embroidery with strong polychromy reminiscent of Fauve painting from the same period. Background in white muslin embroidered with cornély flowers, probably imported from France. Design with minaret on the left side and pointed domes at the bottom typical of Islamic architecture. Interesting detail of embroidery with geometric or cubist contours. Stable muslin without stains or holes, compared to the degradations that we often see on this type of piece. Good general condition of color and conservation. Dimensions: 280 cm high, 82 cm wide.
