"Bust Of Woman Anton Nelson (1849-1910)"
Very beautiful bust of a woman in cast iron from the end of the 19th century. Young woman in a hat, very elegant. The patina is worn. Anton Nelson whose real name is Antoine Van Den Kerkhove is the son of Augustin Van den Kerkhove dit Saïbas. (Joseph)-Antoine was born into a family of Antwerp sculptors who came to settle in Brussels. He trained in his father's studio and at the Brussels Academy. From 1890 to 1910, he worked in Paris and spent some time in London. The many busts of pretty ladies date from this period. Working bronze as well as marble or stone, he works on several sites of decoration of public buildings and realizes, on his own initiative, small decorative and fancy objects. He generally signs A. Nelson and sometimes Jos A.VDK.Nelson Source: https://be-monumen.be/patrimoine-belge/van-den-kerckhove-antoine-dit-nelson/ Shipping costs for France by colissimo registered with insurance: 30 €
