"Bistolfi Leonardo (1859-1933) - Bronze"
Large bronze scene with brown patina, presenting, on the terrace, a young peasant girl surrounded by her geese; she pulls up her skirt with one hand, and shelters herself under a headscarf (Piove means "It's raining", in Italian). Black marble base bearing a cartouche indicating "L. BISTOLFI - PIOVE". Dimensions without base: 40 x 26 cm; H. 26.5 cm. Dimensions with base: 55 x 40 cm; H. 30.5 cm. Léonardo BISTOLFI (1859 - 1933): Italian sculptor, important representative of Symbolism in Italy.
