Manam Island located east of the mouth of the Sepik River and the Ramu River is an active volcanic island whose art is highly sought after by collectors. The very weathered wooden handle from intensive use, presents heads of ancestors and at its end an anthropomorphic head of the crocodile type. It dates from the 1950s.
