Laure is sat ready to have her portrait painted by a painter, probably Simone Martini, for we know that Martini was commissioned in 1336 to decorate in Avignon the «Palais des Papes» (Popes'Palace in Avignon) and that the same year Petrarch met him and asked him to portray Laure and himself.
