Circa 1840 France Day dress in Bronze taffeta or chip dating from the end of the reign of Louis-Philippe. Dress lined in brown chintz with high waisted fitted bodice, draped pleats emphasizing the chest and fastened with hooks in the V-cut back. forearms. Piping on all seams of the bustier. Round skirt fitted with flat pleats at the waist and cannon pleats at the back. A few rare rust spots that are not very visible, but taffeta without hole or weakness.
