Consulate - 1st Empire, staff officer's sword, period XVIII°-XIX°. Blade with flat back and hollow side with 1 edge on the 1st third and 2 cutting edges in continuation. Blade bearing engraving of military attributes, trophies and florals with remains of gilding. Marking on the heel of the blade on the gilding: "ICB" signature of JOHAN & CLEMES BOEGEL in SOLINGEN (active from the time of LOUIS XIV to LOUIS XVIII°). Blade heel under keyboard with its present red tie. Pommel slightly tilted forward, extended by a collar bearing on one side a sword on a laureate crown and helmet and on the other side a cuirass and spears. Joining arch to a branch with animal head at the height of the pommel and floral decoration along its length and central medallion. Keyboard without counter keyboard decorated with an antique helmet, 1 sword, two standards, oak and laurel branch with an ornate border. Quillon ending in a palmette. Checkered and vertically grooved ebony spindle.
