Large Pair Of Italian Gouaches, Animated Swiss Landscapes

Important pair of Italian gouaches dating from the middle of the 19th century in their original frames in wood and gilded stucco with floral ornaments in very good quality spandrels.
they are protected by glass and represent Italian-Swiss landscapes animated by numerous characters. one is a valley landscape in the middle of mountains probably at daybreak, a wooded landscape adorned with a torrent and waterfalls, high mountains in the background.
Meadows in which there are cows.
And on the right an animated scene of a shepherd and a shepherdess accompanied by a flock near a wooden chalet at the window of which a character is smoking.

the second seems to be at dusk, it is darker or simply during a thunderstorm,
the trees have their leaves bent by the wind, the waters of the lake seem to be unleashed and many characters are busy near the boats, other characters on the edge of the lake carry flags and seem to guide the boats that have remained in the distance, on the right near a wooden building other characters are rolling two barrels.

the gouaches of the XIX th century in its dimensions and in perfect condition are quite rare and here they form a very beautiful pendant.

the dimensions differ very slightly.

the second measures 43 cm by 63 cm and 59 cm by 79 cm with its frame.
