"Hippolyte Moreau, Bronze "morning Star""
Superb art nouveau sculpture, bronze with remarkable brown patina, on base, by the sculptor Hippolyte MOREAU (1832-1927), dating from 1890 representing a woman in a dress with elegant and sensual draped effects, allegory of the morning star. The proportions are naturally perfect with MOREAU. It is signed “Hipp. Moreau", traditional signature of this sculptor. On its base an elegant cartouche in bas-relief of the sculpture indicates: “STAR OF THE MORNING by HIPP. MOREAU Gold Medal » Very beautiful piece that embodies the perfection of sculpture and Art Nouveau. Total height: 73cm. From 1863 to 1914, Hippolyte MOREAU exhibited at the Salon des artistes français and won a medal at the Universal Exhibition in 1878 and another at that of 1900.
