"Georges Dola : "portrait Of A Girl 1924""
Georges Dola (Edmond Vernier said 1872-1950) : "Portrait of a little girl", charcoal, pencils and pastels 39 X 37 cm, protected by a glass in the original mounting separating it from the work by a cardboard extension and having preserved its original cord, signed and dated 1924. This delightful portrait which stands out against a background of washed pastel, is reminiscent of the contemporary works of Bernard Boutet de Monvel or Lévy-Dhurmer, this little girl with her “à la Garçonne”, with a frank gaze, is as if “chiselled” in this nearly hundred-year-old work… The artist, known for his portraits of artists and his innumerable posters for shows, is present in national collections.
