Steel, wood, gold damascene, silver.
Overall length: 46 cm - Barrel length: 31.5cm - Cal. 14mm
Damascus barrel, square, then round. Gold-trimmed light. The first third is richly decorated with gold damascus, with a gold-covered breech tail and screw. The round part is surmounted by a thick band covered with a gold damascene frieze; it joins a dazzling sun.
The flat-bodied plate and swan-necked hammer are covered with gold damascene, with motifs following the barrel. Gold-plated scroll basin and fireguard. Mirror-polished, chased and gilded basin cover.
Gold-plated half-round back plate: allegory of war.
Chased steel trigger guard with fleur-de-lys and radiating crescent.
Long-tailed gilded half-round butt cap: allegory of war, with a laurel wreath surrounding the butt cap nail.
Varnished walnut frame, finely decorated with silver thread.
Embossed, shell and gilded thumbpiece.
Mahogany ramrod with bone tip.
Very good condition.
