Hamadan rug (cotton warp and weft, wool pile), North-West Persia, circa 1950-1980.The carpet is decorated with four central medallions, extended by five large pendants on a blue background with small geometric patterns. An ivory serrated flower garland border is flanked by two counter borders.
Typically characterized by its geometric design, this rug is largely reminiscent of old Russian and Caucasian rugs.
