"Louis XVI Period Living Room Furniture, 2 Armchairs & 2 Toile De Jouy Chairs Guéthary - Guetaria"
Living room furniture consisting of a pair of cabriolet armchairs in white lacquered wood and a pair of matching cabriolet chairs, workmanship from the Louis XVI period, late 18th century around 1780. From the model with a policeman's hat backrest which had a great success, these pretty seats draw their originality from their printed canvas cover in the style of Jouy fabrics, which gives them a great freshness. Our canvas (Maison Lelièvre) called Guetaria, takes up the decor of the fishermen of Saint Jean de Luz in the Basque Country and the fort of Guéthary nearby. Ideal for furnishing a bedroom in a house in the fields or an 18th century property in the Basque Country. The 4 seats are in excellent condition, the structure is healthy, the upholstery too (refurbished). The canvas is a thick, solid and robust woven cotton (also new).
