Unsigned painting of a blonde girl sewing. Seated on a folding stool, one foot resting on the other knee, she wears a blue smock, britches, and soft leather boots. The posture and concentration of the girl, the locks of hair, the small yellow touches of the earring, the blue smock, the ankle boots - are all exceptional. One thinks of the Lyon painter Joseph Bail (1862-1921), celebrated for his rustic themes of work and absorption.
