Giardino Filicchi, Fauglia. Giorgio Kienerk. Italian School. Twentieth Century

Magnificent oil on plywood representing the Filicchi garden in Fauglia around 1931. It is a work of Giogio Kienerk, painter born in Florence in 1869 and died in Fauglia (province of Pisa in Tuscany) in 1948 where he had a country house. He spent a lot of time there and often painted its surroundings. he was a pupil of Signorini. we owe him landscapes influenced by the impressionist technique. As a sculptor, he was deeply marked by the art of his master Cecioni. A very nice museum is dedicated to Giorgio Kienerk in Fauglia, in the old court of Fauglia, which were once the prison cells. It was created to preserve and guarantee public access to the collection of "post-macchiaiolo" Kienerk works which the daughter Victoria donated to the community of Fauglia. This excellent artist has depicted the hills around the village extensively. Our painting represents the "Giardino Filicchi" in Fauglia. it is the finished version of a small sketch or study around 1931, of (18 x 26 cm), sold in Milan in 2003 by the auction house "Pandolfini casa d'Aste". (see photo) We are selling this painting in good condition. however, I point out some small and limited worm attacks (see back) they have been treated and restored, few things, and a small crack visible in the photos. the painting is signed in ink at the bottom left, perhaps also on the right with annotations and a counter-signature on the back, the dimensions of the painting alone are 73 cm x 51 cm. It is presented in a very beautiful patinated wooden frame (Montparnasse) of 95.5 cm x 72.5 cm. In a perfect state. The set is absolutely magnificent with superb dimensions.
