"Napoleon III Fireplace In Carrara Marble, Ca.1865"
This beautiful Napoléon III chimney-surround was made in the second half of the nineteenth century, ca.1865. The Carrara-marble is soft-demi statué, so almost no grey-veins in it. The front and jambs are profoundly adorned by delicate carvings. The double moulded, breakfront shelf rest above a panelled frieze, centered by a sheild and drapery. (a dentil-detail, left, is missing on the photo, but replaced now.) Floral endblocks above tapering, decorated jambs, standing on sturdy footblocks. All photo's are taken before dismantling. Fireplace is cleaned now in my workshop. This fireplace can be re-installed as a surround, as well as a front-version. Will be delivered with its original frontfloor marbles. Worldwide shipping. Delivery in Europe can be done by Antique Fireplaces First: 'In House Delivery'.
