"Large Stoup On Foot From The 17th Century In Marble"
Large stoup on a baluster base in Languedoc marble from the Louis XIV period. It rests on a tripod base curved on its three sides surmounted by a tripod counter base also curved on its three sides and adorned with three carved rosettes. This counter base was redone in hard stone and painted in faux marble at a later time. A large baluster inserted into the counter-base supports the large holy basin itself. This basin is cut and excavated in the mass. It is also generously molded and carved with gadroons. Rare and superb work from the 17th century.
