Stamp on the rear upright Hamand for Henri Amand
Louis XV period
Henri Amand
Carpenter in seats. He passed his Master's degree on November 17, 1749
After settling in rue de Lappe, he moved his workshop to rue de Charenton where his widow maintained the activity from 1757 to 1768. From this cabinetmaker we can especially mention Louis XV seats, with beautiful proportions and of good quality, caned office armchairs, armchairs à la reine sculpted with cartouches and flowers, elegant sofas adorned with rococo motifs. Very often he united the legs of his chairs by a brace. Henri Amand's stamp is usually affixed to one of the uprights of the backrest, behind the seat.
