Armand Apol (Brussels, 1879 - 1950)
is a Belgian post-impressionist painter, engraver and lithographer. From 1891 to 1901, he studied at the Brussels Academy, with Constant Montald.
In 1901, he was a member of the "Le Sillon" association.
It was inspired by old towns such as Bruges and Mechelen.
Creeks, rivers, the North Sea beach, Belgian port towns, fishing boats and people in harbors were his favorite motifs. After a difficult start, Apol quickly became a successful artist.
He exhibited in salons (notably in 1907 in Ostend and Brussels).
You can see his works in the museums of Brussels, Geneva, Liège and Verviers.
