4 Directoire chairs attributed to Henri Jacob. Beautiful set of 4 chairs from the Directoire period in lacquered wood, Etruscan model, very elegant with its upturned backrest, underlined by a lambrequin frieze, decorations carved in low relief with a gadrooned rosette inscribed in a diamond, the feet, fore in spindle and back feet in saber. Small gadrooned rosette as a reminder of the backrest on the front connection dice. Parisian work with a very neat manufacture dating from the end of the 18th century, beginning of the 19th century attributed to Henri Jacob (1753-1824), Parisian carpenter, received master on September 29, 1779, German cushion by Georges Jacob, with whom we find seat models very similar, he becomes a supplier to the court and delivers Louis XVI seats in gilded wood, his most important production focuses on the Directory and the Consulate, we also have for sale 4 director's chairs in mahogany stamped by the master. We find the works of Henri Jacob in many collections such as that of the decorative arts in Paris, at the castles of Fontainebleau, at the Camondo museums, at the Louvre... Good overall condition, usual restoration, upholstery in good condition, the 4 chairs are covered with royal blue velvet in very good condition.
