Hibachi or Japanese portable heater. Sand was poured into a bronze container and pieces of glowing coal were placed in it. It rests on three legs, with two small handles in the shape of masks of mythical creatures. The Japanese artist made the body in bronze, the decorations with inlays of gold, silver, copper and its alloys: shakudō (copper-gold alloy) and shibuichi (copper-silver alloy). Decorations showing the vegetation made with extreme precision and great attention to detail.
