Earthenware spice box from the Vallée d'Auge in the style of Italian majolica. The yellow and blue colors are vibrant and typical of Urbino's work.Representing three fauns carrying on their shoulders a box topped with a putto. The faun being a legendary creature from Roman mythology, half-man and half-goat, not to be confused with satyrs.
The cover is glued back on.
