The painting depicts a fruit still life with bunches of grapes of various quality and colour, a split pomegranate with the red grains in evidence, peaches and other fruits arranged on a secondary level.

The fruits, harmoniously composed and illuminated by a light source that highlights their details, are framed by branches of vine leaves on a dark background and rendered with naturalistic effects that denote the high quality of the composition.

To further enrich the scene there is the presence of a parrot represented in the moment in which it eats a grape.
