Théophile Marie-François Lybaert was a Belgian painter born and died in Ghent. Son of the painter Jan Baptist Lybaert, he received artistic training at the workshop of brothers Paul and Félix De Vigne then at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent where he was a student of Théodore-Joseph Canneel. He exhibited in Ghent from 1868 then abroad (Paris, Hamburg, Montpellier, Caracas). He paints Christian scenes, genre, history and orientalist works. Belgian school of the 19th century.
