"Louis XVI Period Console"
Console or middle table from the Louis XVI period. Late 18th century period. It is sculpted on all its sides. The belt is molded and decorated with a frieze of interlacing, rosettes and truncated conical drops on the uprights. It rests on four fluted and blunt spindle legs. It opens with a drawer on one side. Speckled Gray Caunes marble top, a fairly rare marble used from the Louis XIV period until the beginning of the 19th century (Carrière de Caunes-Minervois in Aude). The top is decorated with projections at the corners (a glued corner). Note: interior of the drawer redone in the 19th century. Dimensions: L 90 x D 66.5 x H 74.5
