"Louis XIV Period Writing Box"
Black leather travel writing case. Louis XIV period, late 17th/early 18th century. The slightly domed lid features an iron grip handle. The facade receives a cut iron keyhole and a brass hook. The interior consists of several storage compartments: a pen tray, two spaces for the inkwell and powder compact, two others with flaps, one of which locks and the other has a ring. The inside of the box lid has a hatch for storing documents. The original silk is still present. The two original locks are functional and equipped with two old keys. Dimensions: L 31.5 x D 23 x H 8.5
