"Large Longwy Dish, 1930"
Magnificent large old Longwy dish from the Colonial era decorated with 3 herons in medallion and semi-polychrome flower background, on a blue enamel background. Signed with large stamp from the beginning of the century. Very good state. Diameter: 37cm Rare in its size and decor. These richly colored enamels are treated to give them a slight relief. They are applied with a brush to the background of the piece. The rich and luxuriant patterns on a colored background, generally blue, represent seedlings of various flowers (seedlings of cornflower, cornflower, forget-me-not, etc.). The elongated petals, the buds, the blossoming stems are in shimmering colors, turquoise, pink, green, blue, wine, purple, etc., sometimes with gold highlights.
