"Jean Chene : “in The Public Garden”"
Jean Chéné: “At the public garden”, oil on thin cardboard approximately 16 x 24 cm (irregular cut), without frame. This pretty painter from Nantes left us still lifes, landscapes as well as urban views in the vein of a Vuilliard which he exhibited in the various Parisian Salons and in his Nantes workshop. Ours visibly produced at the beginning of the 20th century makes wonderfully the atmosphere of the public gardens of the time, with the wooden slatted benches, the high railings protecting the “forbidden lawns” and men and women wearing hats… Do not hesitate to ask us for photos or additional information by email or telephone.
