Taf Wallet is an important Belgian artist. Painter of figures, seascapes, still lifes. Co-founder of the Nervia group in 1928, with Anto Carte and Louis Buisseret, a group which posed as a defender of figurative art, in line with the classical movement of the 1930s. He practices an optimistic art, made of light colors treated in a generous dough. He is a friend of Paul Delvaux.
Taf Wallet won the Grand Prix de Rome in 1928. He taught at the National Higher Institute of Fine Arts in Antwerp. Several of his works appear in the collections of the Belgian State, the provinces of Hainault, Brabant, Antwerp and several Belgian museums.
