Empire period hunting rifle, from the first generation of percussion models, by VASSELON VIGNIAL in MARSEILLES. Walnut stock decorated with a rosette, a boar's head, and a small gold shield (worn) which must have worn the monogram of its owner. Lock signed by the gunsmith, and engraved with partridges. Counterplate engraved with foliage ornaments. Trigger guard also engraved with birds. Mechanism in good condition. Traces of oxidation, and non-original wand.
