Pewter PITCHER, with shoulder, plinth foot, straight cup and tasseled thumbscrew.
Hallmark of Charles BOISSEL received master around 1754: crowned paschal lamb / CB(S).
Control mark: C crowned / ROUEN / 1768.
Height: 22.2 cm.

Beautiful copy in very good condition from the production of one of the most famous Rouen masters.

In Rouen, unlike the majority of production centers, the regulations relating to the control mark were respected quite scrupulously and the marks were updated very regularly, which allows precise dating objects, often even to the exact year as is the case here since the hallmark with the vintage of 1769 is known.
