"Pair Of Bronze Plates Signed Gustave Doré"
Pair of magnificent bronze plates signed by Gustave Doré representing Jean who laughs and Jean who cries. In perfect condition. Diameter 22cm Gustave Doré was born in 1832 in Strasbourg and is a French illustrator, caricaturist, painter, lithographer and sculptor. He took up sculpture late in life, in 1878, after having perfected painting. Some of his sculptures can be found in particular at the Musee d'Orsay.
