Alain Ploye is a former student of the Beaux-Arts de Valence under the direction of Gérard Bayle. He claims to be a nature painter. He works with oil and a knife, striving to discover the simple rhythms of nature and penetrate the essence of reality to the point of purity. He then uses large colored plates enhanced with glaze. Thus the shapes expand until they become an abstract outline. His search for the essential in drawing as in coloring led him to work in black and white to go further in a work that oscillates between figuration and abstraction. Alain PLOYE has been exhibiting for a long time in the Drôme-isère region: St-Donat, Romans, l'Arthaudière, etc., but also in Lyon, Toulouse, Italy, Switzerland, etc.
