*Painter, born in Algorta, Biscay, on September 30, 1926 and died in Bilbao on April 14, 2009. Self-taught, he continued his studies at the Vizcaya Artistic Association and then received lessons from Mr. Antonio Merino. In 1958 he moved to Madrid to attend the Círculo de Bellas Artes, then spent some time in Toledo and Cuenca. Made the following collective exhibitions: Vizcaína Artistic Association in 1954, 1959, 1961, 1962, 1963 and 1964; at the National Style Room (Barakaldo, 1965); at the VI Centenary of the Gernika Foundation (1966), being selected at the International Competition of Oropesa del Mar (Castellón, 1967) and at the International Competition of Palamós (Girona, 1967) among current Biscayan painters for the art exhibition in progress, which took place in June 1968 at the Museum of Fine Arts in Bilbao. So far he has had two individual exhibitions (July 1968), one at the Artistic Association of Vizcaína, in March 1964, and at the Sala Arthogar, in Bilbao, in October 1964. Although he is a figurative painter, he paints with dyes. enamels to obtain a chromatic range rich in material and vibrant in color. Free paint, which together with the prepared canvas, without being excessive, helps to give that range of colors desired by the artist. The painter's obsession is to achieve an abstract painting in terms of richness of color, in the figurativeness of the subject, with loose and courageous brushstrokes, to give an agility of execution. In 1969, he held three individual exhibitions, at Arthogar in Bilbao, at the Vizcaína Artistic Association and at the Caisse d'Epargne in Vitoria. Take part, among others, in the VII Summer Salon, the III Baracaldo National Painting Competition, the XXVIII Autumn Salon at the Circulo de Bellas Artes in Palma de Mallorca, the Caja de Ahorros y Monte de Piedad in Salamanca, the exhibition Five Biscayan artists in the Art Hall of the Caja de Ahorros y Monte de Piedad de León, XVIII Autumn Exhibition at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Santa Isabel of Hungary in Seville.
