"Small Mahogany Chest Of Drawers, Louis XVI Period - XVIIIth"
Louis XVI chest of drawers in solid mahogany and mahogany veneer, composed of 6 drawers and topped with Carrara marble. The front of the drawers are covered around their edges with brass rods. We find two falling bronze handles with Louis XVI rosette and a wire and overflow key entry, accompanied by its later brass key and an original lock in working order. The bottoms and sides of the drawers are in oak and dust covers are placed between them. On each side, this piece of furniture has adjoining cylindrical uprights, having fixed grooves, each ending in a turned foot, accompanied by a brass shoe. The sides of this piece of furniture are made of a mahogany panel surrounded by brass rods. The rear feet are slightly projecting and made up of stopped grooves. This chiffonier is also topped with white Carrara marble veined with gray, surrounded by an openwork brass gallery, hugging the legs. This Louis XVI piece of furniture stands out for its ideal dimensions, and for the elegance and finesse of its lines.
