"Woman From The Canary Islands, Oil On Paper. Around 1850"
Since the end of the 18th century and throughout the 19th century, the Canary Islands became a destination for European travelers through fascinating and evocative territories. The search for the exotic is present in stories like those of William Robert Wilde, Elisabeth Murray or George Glas. To these chronicles, we must add landscape and anthropological paintings and drawings. The representation of the Canarian woman would be the inspiration for this work.
