Superb Harzé foundry horse head, lost wax. I received confirmation from the founder that it is a unique work around 1990. This work is inspired by the famous horse's head in the Naples museum. Inaugurated in May 2018, "Le Défi" features a black horse and a white facing each other, one in bronze and the other in marble. Originally designed by the artist to take pride of place on Place Bara, this monumental work was acquired by the Municipality of Anderlecht in 2002 and was exhibited for a few years at the Maison des Artistes.
Pioneering French artist Daniel Monic (1948-2015) began drawing and painting from a very young age. He joined the Toulon National Navy. He paints the sea and boats there. Falling in love with the grayness of the North Sea, he moved to Brussels at the end of the seventies and devoted himself entirely to his art. He lived for almost 30 years in the Triangle district of Anderlecht where he also had his workshop.
A free, visionary and versatile artist, Daniel Monic has expressed himself mainly through painting and sculpture, but also video, drawing and computer graphics. Very quickly, collectors began to follow him and buy his paintings.
