Round box in lacquered and gilded wood. Louis XIV period early 18th century. Martin varnish technique in imitation of Chinese and Japanese lacquers. On a brown and red tortoiseshell lacquered background, the box is decorated with a golden decoration of fleurons, scrolls and foliage scrolls. The lid is domed. Definitely a powder box.
