Very beautiful watercolor representing a scene at dusk: on the left a boat with its rolled sail. In the center, a character and his reflection. On the right, a white horse. A large expanse of water lined with rushes reflects a spectacular sky in its composition and pink hues.
Signed lower left, dated 1941.
Very good condition, framed under glass. Modern framing.
Charles Pyne was exhibited in Suffolk between 1861 and 1880. The Victoria and Albert Museum has one of his works. His watercolors have been the subject of numerous public sales.
