"Empire Casket"
Empire period urn casket. The woods are satin wood and rosewood, with mercury-gilt bronzes. Inside the box contains a sewing set, embellished with mother-of-pearl and gold-plated finishes. The silver thimble is hallmarked and helps establish the French (Parisian) provenance due to the hallmarked N for Napoleon.
