Splendid oil painting on canvas depicting a cardinal, painted in Rome during the third quarter of the 17th century.

It is a first canvas painting, that is, it has never been cleaned or relined. Despite this it is in excellent overall condition, as well as still having its original frame.

Paintings in these conditions, of originality, are truly unique in the antiques market which sees the presence of paintings that have been handled and restored over time.

The painter who executed it shows high pictorial and portraiture skills, so we consider this anonymous painter of the mid-seventeenth century, also interesting for the purposes of studying Roman baroque portraiture of ecclesiastical origins.

The dimensions of the canvas are 59cm x 71cm - dimensions with frame 78cm x 90cm.
