Leon Zeytline (1885-1962) - Oil On Canvas Of A Parisian Scene Oil on canvas depicting a Parisian scene, namely the Palais de la Bourse. Signed lower right. Visible at the Galerie Courcelles Antiquités, at 97 rue de Courcelles, in the 17th arrondissement of Paris. Born in 1885 in France from a Russian family, Léon ZEYTLINE (also spelled Zeitline or Tseytline) is a post-impressionist painter in love with the City of Light. He makes Paris his central subject and tries to capture life on the boulevards and the big cafes. He is also fascinated by the elegant outfits of the women who populate his paintings. He is also known for his scenes of Parisian life in the 1920s which were very successful in his time. His style seduces with his attention to detail and in particular the architecture and the characters he represents. Also an illustrator, he illustrated Ernest Jaubert's Russian Folk Tales in 1913.
