A truly ambiguous canvas, the pictorial context of which is difficult to understand, which, however, a quick stylistic analysis would seem to concern a talented painter from mid-17th century or second half-century central Italy.
This composition is really effective with the allegorical figures of the 4 continents (Europe, America, Asia and Africa) in the foreground with their fascinating attributes, surrounding the terrestrial globe on which the weapons and swords are left and forsaken, while the winged demons wriggle from there in the midst of the slumbering flames by the force of good and the divine spirit.
In the distance, an idyllic night landscape with arid and deserted mountains. Rather, the image of great spiritual strength stands on the upper floor where the sacred heart of Jesus tied with branches of thorns to remember the passion of Christ and dominated by a cross is surrounded by a multitude of angel musicians with feverish poses emerging from the clouds.
To contribute to the symbolic and mystical charm of this canvas, it is the pyramid with a central eye which has been a Masonic symbol for centuries.

The gilded Roman frame "salvador rosa" is from the 17th century and retains excellent gilding.
