IMPERIAL PRUSSIA, carbine pistol, cavalry model 1854, 19th century Pistol modified into a carbine, model 1854, for the Prussian cavalry in caliber 15.6 mm. Dated 1854, bearing the factory marking of "DANZIG" surmounted by the Imperial crown on the right side plate. Other markings on all parts with punches (all parts and screws (see photos) and numbered "48". Finger rest bearing regimental marking with punches and number (see photos). Mechanism in perfect working order. Stock in 2 parts in blackened walnut, butt plate and iron attachment. Round barrel of caliber 15.6 mm with smooth interior. Rim at the muzzle outlet, thunder panels, sights eyecup & front sight. Pistol in service in the Prussian army until its replacement by the Reichrevolver, model 1879.
